Writer Dad, it hurt so much to read of this family’s tragedy, but thank you for passing it on to us. I hope that everyone watches Star Wars, and thinks of little Ethan, and John, and their family. I pray that the family will some way, somehow, find peace again.
That was a difficult passage to read, Writer Dad. Thank you for sharing it here. It’s sad how things work out sometimes, but I take solace in knowing that they are in a better place now. And their lives ended while doing something they enjoyed.

I’m on vacation and was just finishing a post and looking around the internet a bit when I came across your post and the story of Ethan and his grandfather. As a parent of an almost seven-year-old, that was almost too much to bear. I missed seeing Star Wars on 8/21 but I’ll be thinking of the family and hoping as Karen said that they will heal somehow.

Hi Writer Dad - What a terrible tragedy. His family must be devastated.
I guess this is a message to us all, not to put off things we really want to do until later, as that day my never come.

Thank you to everyone who read the story and responded. We watched Star Wars (a first for our children) and kept Ethan in our hearts all weekend.
