Thank you to everyone who read the story and responded. We watched Star Wars (a first for our children) and kept Ethan in our hearts all weekend.

Hi Writer Dad - What a terrible tragedy. His family must be devastated.

I guess this is a message to us all, not to put off things we really want to do until later, as that day my never come.

    Hello,
I'm on vacation and was just finishing a post and looking around the internet a bit when I came across your post and the story of Ethan and his grandfather. As a parent of an almost seven-year-old, that was almost too much to bear. I missed seeing Star Wars on 8/21 but I'll be thinking of the family and hoping as Karen said that they will heal somehow.
  • That was a difficult passage to read, Writer Dad. Thank you for sharing it here. It's sad how things work out sometimes, but I take solace in knowing that they are in a better place now. And their lives ended while doing something they enjoyed.

  • Writer Dad, it hurt so much to read of this family's tragedy, but thank you for passing it on to us. I hope that everyone watches Star Wars, and thinks of little Ethan, and John, and their family. I pray that the family will some way, somehow, find peace again.
