Ah, typos aren't worth worrying about, Trina. It's the ideas on the page. The last few weeks I've been writing tons of content for the relaunch of Children Write the Future that Cindy and I are planning for March. It's interesting... approaching writing from a child's perspective. I think we spend too much time on the mechanics in the beginning, almost as if we're training our children that the ideas are secondary. Sad really.

Thank you for the songs in your heart. It is that music that keeps me going. : )

My heart sings for you Sean. I remember your words so many months ago...you are a writer.... they have stuck with me ever since. Not in a way that has made me put streams of words on paper, but I am compelled to chose my words carefully. I may not always be so successful in my choice, some poor grammar, typos and such - but your words are always on my mind.
Take charge!

Thanks, Shelly!

That means a lot. I've been writing a lot with my daughter lately and it's been wonderful. By letting the artist in me have plenty of breath, I'm helping them to find the artist in themselves. Makes me want to cry. But in a good way. : )

Thanks for stopping by.

My father was an artist. In spirit, that is. For money he worked as an airplane mechanic but his heart was never in it. He once told me, “Sometimes I think I must be the unhappiest man that ever lived.” It was tough to reconcile his artistic self with his mechanic reality. Years passed, eventually his artist self went dormant and, not surprisingly, his heart faltered. While doctors repaired clogged arteries it was his soul that needed mending most. The chasm that grew inside swallowed the man up and he was never much good to anyone after that.

Your post is so hopeful for writers and artists alike. Reading it made me wonder what my father's life (and mine) would have been like had he found someone like you in the world to offer him encouragement. Take it from me, honoring your artist self is such a gift for your kids. Your lucky, lucky kids.

Beautifully said! I love it. I've always said, "Like taking pictures with a pencil," but I like your way better. Especially since I don't use pencil. : )

Thanks for stopping by.

A writer is an observer who's taken action. Through the lens of your pen, others glean meaning (some of which they bring with their own filters). The *act* of writing is what differentiates you from the rest.

Thanks, Alex!

I've no doubt you will. Just keep your eyes on the prize and your heals slamming against the sidewalk.

If you'd like content that's more directly focused on the writing and publishing process, you can visit one of my sister sites, the Collective Inkwell.

Hope to see you there!

Good for you Sean, good for you!

I have started my book this year and spent most of Sunday diving into an outline and the book's structure. You have truly inspired me to forge ahead and not look back. I hope I can share a similar post in about a year.

Again, congratulations.

Thanks, man! I really appreciate it.

And commenting is adding value, in a big way. It lets me know I'm not bouncing an echo through an empty room! : )
