This was a Halloween poem Dave and I did last year. It was one of our very first collaborations ever, you can even see we used the name Collective Inkwell at the bottom, almost a half year before the site went live. I thought it would be fun to run the poem again for Halloween.

There’ a lady down the street: An old gray bat.
She gives out apples
Like, who wants THAT?
Another house, with pumpkins blazin’
Is giving out lame-ass…Sunmaid RAISINS!
Stupid adults. You don’t give fruit.
Just give us candy.
Just go an do it.
We dont’ want toothbrushes, or things nutritious
We just want candy.
Sweet and delicious.
Well, next year, we go,
Quiet as mouses
And wrap TP
All over their houses.
Hey I know that lady and the house down the street
The ones who simply don’t get trick-or treat
It’s not about healthy, it’s all about sugar
So that’s why I’m digging this big giant booger
When she gives me an apple I’ll say thanks like I mean it
Then wipe it on her porch, then leave her to clean it
