This one has the makings of a great children's book. It needs some illustrations, and it needs to be sitting on my kids' shelf. :)

A can of tuna topped with crackers and you've got a new dish.
Many times as a tot you had this on the menu
when there was no money to go out to a venue.
We got real creative when dollars were slim
everybody chowed down and did so with a grin.
Midnite mac n cheese was a true guilty pleasure
Cuz it was cheesy and creamy and to my tummy a treasure.
but i don't do that no more, nope, those days are gone
cuz i've vowed to be slender and healthy and strong!

I once served my 5 year old mac n' cheese for 2 straight weeks. It was not by MY choice–it was all the little bugger would eat.
So true. I can't keep up with what foods my kids “like.” Just when I think I've got it down, it changes.
