You Are Unique!

There’s no one else like you. You truly are unique.
The thoughts inside your head and the words inside your speak.
Only you and no one else could ever be so rare.
Not a soul in the whole wide world can quite compare.
Remarkable and special, specific peerless too
Un-repeated and exclusive, distinctive that is you
But here’s the thing (and I sure hope you know I mean in fun)
Yes, you are unique of course, but so is everyone!

  1. Hi Sean. Very nice!! “The words inside your speak” interests me. I think that many of us have been conditioned to speak like each other now. Corperate speak and political correctness have a lot to answer for. Some things just don't get said for fear that others will be offended either genuinely or more often because it's now a conditioned response to take offence . The words I would speak if only I were brave enough to do so would make me unique! :D

Hi Sean .. we all are – aren't we? If only every child could be taught that .. each of us is special .. and bring themselves to realise everything we do is unique, yet we all work together as a family, as part of a community .. if we could tap this and join the dots .. it would be so brilliant.

We all are very different, on this i will agree
we vary oh so widely, me from you and you from me.
    What makes you tick might make me sick, that's true without a doubt;
But being very different is what this world's about.
Everbody has a talent, everybody has their art
We should be proud to strut our stuff and mean it from the heart.
If we were all the same we'd see the world in black and white
instead of multi-colored sights to brighten up the night.
So be happy that you are unique and special in your way..
Let's appreciate each other….that's all I have to say!

    Love ya, mom

What up, Ma? Ya big rhyming minx.
You seem to enjoy the rhythm methinks.
It's fun to throw down, so why don't you try it,
Over at the Triple C, cuz you can't deny it
It's fun, filled with mirth, your smile gets bigger
And you can keep bouncing like a big happy tigger

Sorry I missed this yesterday Dave!

I agree, we are all rather homogenized these days. Everything used to be so regional, but now no matter where you live, there's crossover. We all watch the same shows, read the same stuff online and walk into the same Starbucks to get our Ventis. I truly hope that being a global cultural doesn't mean that the individual is dying.

  6. writerdad says:

Yeah, there's not enough of a focus on that with children. It is okay to color outside the lines. And it's more important to get our ideas on the page than it is for the handwriting to be neat. Sometimes we get it flip flopped.

  7. Don't worry about it I stopped crying after a couple of hours. ;)

Actually I forgot I'd left the comment I spent most of yesterday dealing with an iFrame attack on my site. The individual who engineered that deserves to lose their individuality through the unique application of my own individuality upon their person. :)

  8. writerdad says:

    LOL. What's an iFrame?

P.S. Hit me in email and I'll tell you cool stuff. :)
