Potty Training Help is here.

ptp-250x250Today is the release of my first info product, Potty Training Power, an e-book package designed to offer potty training help to those parents who need it most.

I am exceedingly proud of this product. Cindy and I have poured a tremendous amount of thought into the book, and David Wright (Blogger Dad) is responsible for the wonderful design. We’ve set up a separate site, so I won’t bore you with a sale’s pitch here.

I’ll be brief and just ask you to spread the word if you’re able; a link maybe, or a forward to someone you know. It doesn’t matter if I just wrote the next Da Vinci Code. If no one sees it, no one’s buying.  Since I would love for this to be my first success leading to another, each one assembling toward the actuality of writing for a living instead of simply dreaming about it… well, that would be awesome.

Potty Training Power is a two part product.  The first component is our brand new e-book, laying out a method for quick and dirty potty training in two-dozen pages.  The second part is the wee-book, “Number One and Two it!” with gorgeous graphic design by Dave.  The package is $27 and includes full email support from both Daisy and myself.  We’ve all put a lot of work into both the site and our product and need it to be as successful as possible.

If you need potty training help, please check out our new book on potty training your toddler, Potty Training Power.  You can see the site here.

Also, if you would like to be an affiliate for Potty Training Power, and have one of Dave’s pretty little buttons gleaming on the sidebar of your site, you can sign up with e-junkie here, or email me here, and I’ll walk you through it.  Of course all affiliates will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

Thanks!

Maya: I'll discuss it with Dave. Maybe it could work.
  • Hey Sean,
Memetales will feature links to book related products (affiliate links) along with a children's book. I would have given you more details except we are not that far in the development of Memetales yet :) - but it is something for you and @bloggerdad to think about.

Green Jello: Let me know if you liked it.

    Chris: Thanks, Chris!

Lori: Dude, Lori, Wow. Thanks for all the emails yesterday. I will heed them as best I can.

Elli: I totally hear what you're saying. However, it isn't just about the hundred hours put into the books writing and design, or the one of a kind art and poem that come with the supplementary book. The book also comes with full email support, which means that we answer every question that comes along from anyone who buys it. Potty training can be an emotionally exhausting experience. We've gone through it many times with many clients. Those emails are long, thorough, and time consuming. They are also the kind of extra assistance parents need and not something generally offered. $27 is fair market price. Other products on the market are selling for the same, if not more, and are not near the quality. I did my due diligence before starting the project.

A few reasons for the higher price of some e-books:

They don't heave near the reach of a book in a bookstore. They are truly niche products which sell far less copies.

It must be worth it for an affiliate. The higher the price point, the more an affiliate will make. I don't plan on making anything off WD with the book. I just thought it would be negligent to ignore the audience. The book is offered as an affiliate product through various affiliate programs. If I priced it at ten dollars, I would pick up very few affiliates. It's hard to make an e-book fly without them.

Let's say the price was ten dollars. My cut for that book would be three dollars. A single sale could garner an hour's worth or email back and forth. Easily. I'm okay selling fewer copies and being able to do my best job with the ones out there.

I don't feel put down in the least and I understand your perspective, but I did put tremendous thought into the pricing.
  • I love the idea and could really use such a book right now actually. I'm also not one of those people who wants to get everything for free. I'm sure you put a tremendous amount of work in, but 27$? That is a little above the sweet spot. Honestly, when you drop the price to 9,99$ I'm in right away and I'll advertise for your book in return for a smile. But for that price I don't even want to put the ad up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to put you down. Just give you an advice on the pricing. I'm sure you'll sell a lot more copies if you lower the price and think of another advertising method.

  • Best wishes with this! My "kids" use the kitty litter box (I love my cats!), but here's my Tweet on it:

Thanks Glen for the heads up! I had no idea. I have a newsletter scheduled to hit in an hour. I'll pull the post and the newsletter, rework them in the morning. What your saying makes perfect sense and I feel like a git for not realizing something so obvious.

    Thanks again, really.
  • I see people doing this all the time and getting penalised (Google "David Airey"). Sorry Sean, but you can't just ASK for specific anchor text, because it is blatant manipulation of their results.

You can of course hint at it, just be careful that no-one is watching, david was just a blogger like you and was heavily penalised. Just a word of warning, to watch out, I don't mind either way.

Good luck with the new site!

    Cheers,
    GLen
